Merit Badges

There are two types of merit badges one is eagle required the other is non-eagle required

Eagle required

 Eagle merit badges are merit badges that you must have in order to get the eagle rank (you need 14 of the 21 for eagle rank). There are 3 eagle merit badges that are known as the "Eagle Slayers" these merit badges are Personal Fitness, Personal Management, and Family life there are one thing in common with theses merit badges, they have timed requirements each have you log something for 3 months, so it is recommended to get theses meri badges done within a couple years of joining.

Non-Eagle

Non-eagle merit badges are extra merit badges that may not be important in everyday life but are still fun and you still can learn many things from them (you need 8 non-eagles merit badges to get eagle).
